How can young entrepreneurs create jobs by themselves?’’

On Wednesday 29th of May 2019. the Municipal Youth Council in Bujumbura Town Hall (CNJB / Mairie), in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth, Posts and Information Technology organized a conference of young entrepreneurs in the town of Bujumbura .

The theme of the conference was: “How can young entrepreneurs create jobs by themselves?’’

Nahimana Dieudonné was among the guests who shared their testimony to encourage young people to stay true to their vision.

He pointed out that more than 60% of Burundian youth are unemployed, as shown by the statistics

The solution he found in this alarming situation is that Burundians do not really need to wait for a job.

Dieudonné Nahimana admits that they have all the valuable knowledge that can help them create and offer jobs through entrepreneurship.

He did not identify an entrepreneur as the one who pursued that as a career at the university, but he identifies an Entrepreneur as a person who has a vision of innovating new ideas and putting them into action.

Here are 3 main points that he emphasized so that the solution can be brought:

1. Change of mentality: For him, as he perceives things: “a person does not work to earn money and does not need money to start working:” a person just needs to identify a need that exists in society and being able to provide a solution to it.
2. Innovation and creativity: He has made young people aware that they must innovate new ideas that can distinguish them from others so as not to be the so-called “followers”
3. Serving others: He likes to say that “wealth does not depend on how much you own, but how many people you serve”

To conclude, he advised the audience that in their daily lives, they must always ask themselves a question: “what is the problem that needs a solution?”
